Tell Us About Your Tree

The more you can tell us up front, the less back and forth there is and the closer the first number will be to the final one. A photo does most of the work.

  • Free, no-obligation estimate
  • Quotes from an independent local tree service
  • Ask for chipping and haul-away in your quote
  • We will say so if a trim beats a removal

Your request goes to an independent local tree service, which contacts you with a quote. Big Country Tree Pros does not do the tree work itself.

What to Include in Your Request

Nobody can price a tree honestly without seeing it, but a good photo gets us most of the way there. Stand far enough back that the whole tree fits in frame, including the ground under it, and take a second shot from a different angle if the tree is close to a structure. From there, the details below fill in the rest.

    • Roughly how tall it is. A comparison works fine. Taller than the roofline, about twice the height of the house, that sort of thing.
    • What is underneath it. Open grass, a roof, a fence, a pool, a shed, garden beds, a neighbor’s driveway. This matters more than almost anything else, because it decides whether wood can be dropped or has to be lowered on ropes.
    • Whether power lines are near it. The service drop running to your house is one situation. A tree under the larger lines along the road is another, and that one needs the utility involved.
    • How we get to it. Front yard, back yard, alley access, and the width of the gate if the tree is behind a fence. A gate that takes a chipper feed changes the labor significantly.
    • Whether you want the stump ground. It is priced separately, and doing it on the same visit is cheaper than a second trip.
    • Whether you want the wood. Rounds stacked for firewood cost less than hauling everything off, and it saves us a run to the dump.
    • Anything buried or fragile. Sprinkler heads, septic lids, a shallow water line, a flower bed you would rather we worked around.
Not sure what the tree needs? Say so. Plenty of the trees we look at end up getting a trim instead of a removal, and we would rather tell you that than sell you the bigger job.

    What Happens After You Submit

The request comes straight to us. We read it, look at the photos, and come back with either a price or a short list of questions if something is unclear. Most requests are answered within about a day. Weekends and stretches of storm work can run longer, because trees resting on structures and limbs blocking driveways move ahead of routine quotes.

If the job can be priced from photos, you get a number and a description of what is included. If it genuinely needs walking, we set up a time to come look, and there is no charge for that visit or for telling you the tree is healthy. Once you accept, we schedule around the weather and call you if wind moves the date.

There is no follow up pressure. If the answer is not this season, that is a perfectly good answer and you will not be chased about it.

    Service Area

Abilene is home base, and the towns around it are part of the normal service area rather than an add on. Each has its own page describing the work that actually comes up there.

The services themselves are covered on the tree removal, tree trimming, stump grinding and storm cleanup pages. Common questions are answered on the FAQ page, and how we run jobs is on the about page.
